The Positives

Adjusted profit beat: Adjusted EPS of $0.46 edged past the $0.44 estimate

Monitoring & disposables cushion: Patient vital-signs monitors and disposable accessories propped up the bottom of the results

Annual targets reaffirmed: Full-year revenue and profit outlook held alongside a Q3 rebound guide

iRadimed, which makes medical devices for MRI procedures, delivered adjusted profit that topped Street expectations. Revenue of $20.50 million came in roughly 0.7% above the $20.35 million estimate, and adjusted EPS (excluding stock-based compensation and similar items) of $0.46 beat the $0.44 consensus.

By product, patient vital-signs monitor revenue climbed from $5.94 million a year earlier to $6.67 million, and disposables also rose to $4.79 million, partially offsetting the pump-transition drag. Management attributed the result to record domestic monitoring-device orders during the quarter.

The company guided Q3 revenue to $23.0M–$24.5M with adjusted EPS of $0.54–$0.59, and reaffirmed full-year revenue of $91.0M–$96.0M and adjusted EPS of $2.09–$2.24. The plan is for margin recovery via new-pump expansion and efficiency improvements in the second half.

The Negatives

Growth stall: Revenue rose just +0.5% YoY

Pump revenue plunge: IV-pump revenue of $6.43 million was down roughly 21% from $8.19 million a year earlier

Margin and net-profit deterioration: Gross margin 74% (vs. 78% prior year), net income down 10%

Q2 was the first full-scale production and shipment quarter for the next-generation 3870 IV pump, and top-line growth effectively flatlined. As pump revenue fell sharply, total equipment revenue also declined versus the prior year, while the share of domestic revenue dropped to 82% from 89% a year ago.

Profitability metrics were also weak. Gross margin slipped 4 percentage points to 74%, and GAAP diluted EPS came in at $0.41 — down 9% from $0.45 a year earlier. Operating cash flow of $5.9 million was down 23% from $7.7 million in the prior-year period, hinting at working-capital pressure during the transition.

If new-product revenue in the second half doesn't ramp as quickly as hoped, or if production efficiency improves only slowly, holding the lower end of full-year guidance will be difficult. The next leg requires simultaneous confirmation of transition pace, order conversion, and margin recovery.

What Management Said

CEO Roger Susi framed Q2 as the first step in moving IV-pump revenue from the legacy 3860 to the next-generation 3870 platform. He assessed revenue as meeting the company's expectations and initial shipments as on plan, noting that the manufacturing and engineering teams managed the early-stage ramp and challenges well. He expected gross margin to rise further in the second half as experience accumulates and volumes increase.

On the orders side, he said domestic monitoring-device unit orders hit a record and 3870 orders also met expectations. More than 70% of new pump orders were configured as "quad stacks" — four pumps per one pole — which he read as a signal that customers are embracing the configuration as standard and that channel counts are doubling versus before.

Market Reaction and What to Watch Next

The 05:00 KST 07-31 reference price of $95.21 (+1.01%) on the regular session is the 7/30 close ahead of the earnings release (US Eastern 08:15 ET / 21:15 KST 07-31). As intraday and after-hours moves following the release have not yet been confirmed, we refrain from judging the market reaction to the results at this point.

Whether Q3 revenue lands within the company's guided range ($23.0M–$24.5M), and in particular how quickly the 3870 pump's revenue mix expands.

Whether gross margin recovers from Q2's 74% into the second half, and whether production-efficiency improvements show up in the numbers.

Whether the record monitoring-device orders and quad-stack order mix translate into actual revenue and recurring purchases (consumables).
